The 5 Disappointing Games of 2021

As we get closer to the end of the year, it’s finally time to take a step back and reflect on everything the gaming world has to offer in 2021. The 5 Disappointing Games of 2021
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and Deathloop are just a few of the many games that got great accolades from critics and fans alike in the past year.
In the world of gaming, though, it wasn’t all sunshine and roses.
Not only is it still extremely tough to obtain a next-generation system, but there have also been some extremely poor games launched for it.
Here are five games that were published in 2021 and for which we all had high hopes, but which disappointed both critics and fans.
Plus, after being hyped up, delayed, and then released in a broken mess on consoles, we’d like to award an honourable mention to Warzone’s new Caldera Pacific Map.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition
Disappointing Games of 2021:- Although it wasn’t Grand Theft Auto VI, we took Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition as a peace offering and something to keep us occupied until the next GTA instalment arrived.
Grove Street Games, known for mobile versions of iconic games like Ark: Survival Evolved, Max Payne Mobile, Bully: Anniversary Edition, and other classic GTA titles, was charged with the remake.
Some fans are still baffled by the distinction between a REMAKE and a REMASTER.
Nobody expected anything too spectacular in terms of graphics from GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition because it was a remaster, which meant it would receive some graphical upgrades from the original edition.
The Definitive Edition, on the other hand, was the worst disaster we’d ever seen.
The rain effects in all three games were so awful that you couldn’t play them; there were continual glitches and graphics flaws, and the fact that you could see the entire map from one point to the other when you got high enough was startling.
When you consider that it was unavailable for the first weekend on PC owing to a problem with the Rockstar Titles Launcher, it was bound to be one of the most disappointing games of 2021.
Battlefield 2042
Battlefield 2042 takes the title of most awful game of 2021, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to many.
It does not have an annual release schedule like Call of Duty.
Despite this, it remains one of its most formidable rivals.
Each time a new Battlefield game is released, it is branded the “COD killer.”
Fans were ecstatic when 2042 was first shown, and it rapidly became one of the most anticipated games of the year.
But things quickly deteriorated after the beta was released, and things only worsened with the official rollout.
The game was a glitchy, bug-infested disaster, with many players perplexed by the game’s poor hit detection, malfunctioning vehicles, and overall stability.
Since the game’s debut, EA and DICE have released many updates to address many of the bugs, but the damage has already been done; the player base has substantially decreased, and we don’t expect them to return anytime soon.
2042 might have been one of the most anticipated FPS games of the year, but instead it has landed at the top of the list of the year’s most disappointing games.
Back 4 Blood
Disappointing Games of 2021:- Back 4 Blood became a hotly anticipated release almost immediately. After the original developer of Left 4 Dead, Turtle Rock Studios, returned to the genre that it helped popularize.
employs a card system to adjust gameplay features such as improvements, bonuses, and corruption cards that raise the difficulty. It follows a similar premise in which a squad of four navigates through stages overrun with zombies.
While Back 4 Blood was a great hit when it first came out. Many fans thought the overall experience was lacking.
The game’s Swarm mode, which includes PvP, feels like a squandered opportunity. The community had hoped for more of a Left 4 Dead Versus mode.
Worse, individuals who chose to play solo discovered that the game effectively punished. Them by barring them from completing several of the in-game achievements.
Diablo 2: Resurrected
Disappointing Games of 2021 :-Taking one of Blizzard’s most popular games and modernising it should have been. A no-brainer for a firm that has been plagued by problems and controversy in recent months.
Diablo 2: Resurrected, on the other hand, fell short of expectations.
Diablo 2: Resurrected gamers experienced several server troubles upon launch. Thereby rendering the game unplayable. Even for offline players, as the service was unable to confirm a legally owned copy on a regular basis.
Those who were able to get past the server issues, such as console gamers. Were eventually met with extremely long queue times. With some players having to wait hours just to get into the game.
As the server troubles began to affect individuals who were really playing the game, frustrations boiled over online.
Due to the servers significantly effecting the game’s load speeds. One user with a level 85 Sorceress died when loading into a waypoint while playing under the game’s Hardcore settings.
Fans were angry and perplexed as a result of the increasing connectivity and server troubles that plagued Diablo 2: Resurrected.
Considering how enthusiastic fans were for a return to such a cherished title. The latest iteration has put a blemish on the franchise’s heritage.
Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, which was first announced at the 2019 Game Awards and is owned by Wizards of the Coast, showed a lot of promise.
The game, however, received a mixed response when it was released in June. With many critics praising it for its monotonous and repetitive combat. Poor narrative, and difficulty spikes that made it tough to play alone.
Furthermore, the game was plagued by bugs and glitches, which harmed the whole experience.
While the launch was undoubtedly disappointing, particularly for those. Who enjoy spending time in that environment, the criticism received was not ignored.
Thankfully, developer Tuque Games has made a statement explaining plans. To update the game, and has already started the process. By releasing a patch that improves the AI while also fixing multiplayer. Connection stability and rubber-banding difficulties a few months ago.
